What’s the first step? We value your investment and it’s important to us that we get a good sense of each other. Let’s book a video chat either through Google Meet or FaceTime. Or if you prefer, we could meet for coffee in Columbia, MD.
How do we book you for our wedding or a portrait session? Deposit 1000 bucks for a wedding, agree to the contract or 50% for a portrait session and we’re on. Easy peasy. :)
How do we pay and are payment plans available? Zelle is preferred. We also accept Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, credit cards (+4% fee), and checks. Payment plans are totally awesome. Please click here to let me know what works for you best. And we’ll figure things out together.
How many photos do you deliver? The best 600-700 photos will be chosen from the 6000 we usually end up with per 8-hour wedding. Portrait sessions offer several options.
When do we see our stuff? The first 12 images of a wedding will be sent to you within 24-hours, 50 more images within a week for a thorough summary and the rest is handed over within 4 weeks. Portrait sessions receive proofs after seven days and the final edits are available 5 days after the choices are received. Timeliness is very important. You’ve gone to great lengths to make this happen and it should be reciprocated with equal vigor.
How do we see our stuff? A password-protected, shareable and downloadable gallery will be emailed to you. Click here to see a sample gallery.
Can we see a full gallery? This should be asked of any photographer before you make a decision. Impressing clients with one’s best work is expected, but sharing complete deliveries brings a certain level of confidence and accountability we should have for each other.
Do we get RAW photos so we can process these ourselves? Delivering RAW files is a disservice to clients. This is unfinished work and doesn’t represent the craftsmanship you’ve come to appreciate. It’s like a baker handing over flour to those who say they can also bake.
What are your travel fees? If long travels are needed, I’d like to arrive at wedding locations at least 36 hours ahead of the event. We will account for hotel, airfare and car rental - direct costs only. Please send me a note for relevant travel arrangement questions by clicking here.
Do you shoot with an assistant? Unobtrusive photography allows you, and more importantly, your loved ones, to fully enjoy the wedding experience. I pursue this by working alone. I’ve done so for weddings larger than 300 happy, love-crazed people. Photographing since 2002 has honed my anticipation skills pretty darn well. If you deem it necessary, a second photographer is available as an option for $800 for a 6-hour wedding. The 8-hour package includes an additional photographer.

We notice you display photos mostly of couples, do you also take detail photos and posed family pictures? I’ve always hoped clients book me for my work’s focus on people, so this is what I share the most. I want to be commissioned for this and not my ability to photograph buildings and nice chairs. Although I love photographing details, grandma wiping tears or your dad’s epic moonwalk comes first.
Any tips for the camera-shy? Congrats on being normal. I have yet come across a person who loves being photographed. Making good photos is all about not trying hard in the first place. Please click here to see how others describe how they did it.
How secure are our photos? The backup process begins as soon as we create the first image. The cameras have dual, duplicating memory cards. The day’s work doesn’t end when we say goodbye. The files are downloaded to a laptop and 3 external drives as soon as I get to the car. Before I retire for the evening, the folder is then uploaded to two separate cloud services. Within 24-hours, we’ll have 8 copies of your photos in different locations.
Can I print the images on my own and use these as I wish? Go to town with it, a print and distribution release is issued to all clients. You can print these anywhere and share with loved ones. If you want me to take care of this for you, please know I’ve worked with the same premium professional lab since 2007. They know exactly how the images are supposed to look. The delivery turnover for our uncompromising photographic prints is a quick 10-days.

Do you have insurance? Yes, up to $2M. Your peace of mind is an integral part of the business. I will send the necessary documents to your wedding venue manager.
I’d like to learn photography, may I shoot with you to learn? Yes, I’m happy to have you. I accept a limited number of apprentices each season. I love sharing what I know by inviting others to see how I do things. The tide raises all boats and I’m here to help.
